There are two kinds of information on this site. Numbers and executive orders update themselves every day. Verdicts are written by a person and are never generated automatically.
What “said” means
Every quotation comes from the 2024 Republican Party Platform, adopted at the national convention in July 2024. We quote it as written, capital letters included, and we don’t paraphrase what the party said.
What updates on its own
- National debt
- U.S. Treasury Fiscal Data, Debt to the Penny. Daily.
- Consumer prices
- Bureau of Labor Statistics, CPI-U, all items, not seasonally adjusted (CUUR0000SA0). Monthly.
- Manufacturing jobs
- Bureau of Labor Statistics, Current Employment Statistics (CES3000000001). Monthly; recent months are preliminary and are often revised.
- Gas prices and mortgage rates
- EIA weekly regular gasoline price and Freddie Mac’s 30-year fixed mortgage rate, via the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED). Weekly.
- Tariff revenue
- Customs duties from the Monthly Treasury Statement. Monthly.
- Federal jobs and electricity prices
- Bureau of Labor Statistics series CES9091000001 and CUUR0000SEHF01. Monthly.
- Congressional votes
- Party tallies from the official roll calls published by the Clerk of the House and the Senate.
- Executive orders
- Federal Register API. Orders are linked to promises by keywords in their titles. Those links are a starting point for reading, not a judgment about the order.

The red marks at the top of the front page
Where the platform made a promise that public data can measure directly, its words are printed with a correction written in. If the data runs against the promise, the line is struck through in red. If it supports the promise, the correction appears in navy. If there’s no real change, it appears in grey. The marks update automatically. No one decides by hand whether a line is struck.
How new entries are found
Each morning a script reads that day’s executive orders and other federal documents, and a language model drafts possible entries with sources. The drafts arrive as a proposal that a person reads, checks against the sources and either approves or rejects. Nothing drafted by software reaches this site without that review.
How verdicts are decided
- Broken
- What was done runs against what the platform says, and a primary source or court record shows it.
- Mixed
- Part of the promise was kept and part wasn’t, or the method contradicted the promise.
- Kept
- The promise was carried out. Kept promises are listed too; a record that only counts failures isn’t a record.
Each entry needs at least one primary or high-quality source: a government document, a court ruling, a CBO score, or original reporting. Commentary doesn’t count as a source.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, write to corrections@notgop.com with a source. Confirmed errors are fixed, the correction is noted on the entry, and it is listed in the corrections log.
